Fashion Obession

Since I can post blogs, I wanted to at least talk to you even though I cannot upload photos.  I have a bunch of new work I’ve been doing and as soon as the technical issues are resolved I’ll be posting new images like crazy.  Remember, patience is a virtue and I’m sure the wait will be worth it, your going to love what I’ve been creating!  I am at a point in my career that I no longer have time to work for print.  I have my photographer favorites that I work with regularly so any other work I do will be paid work.  With exception to runway, I am still trying to get onto a runway so I will give my time for that opportunity.  If you are in need of runway models or know any designers that could benefit from having a long haired model, please let me know!

I am in the process of creating my own fashion line and will be providing items for sale soon.  I don’t want to claim designer status until I actually complete a collection to show on a runway, but I am making my way there.  I love fashion and have been sewing since I was a kid so it was a natural transition for me to make and I am confident I will have success.  I also need to study design and style before I will feel comfortable claiming to be a designer - I don’t want someone discrediting my work just because I did not have the industry knowledge that other designers have.  Fashion is definately a source of creativity for me and I have come to love color!  If you can believe it, I used to wear only grey, blue and black tshirts and jeans all the time - yup I was the tomboy type growing up.  Then somewhere along the way something changed in me and I blossomed into a fashion victim woman, yup I’m obsessed with shoes.  I think I have surpassed 50 pairs now and on my way to 100 pairs of shoes, I definately need more room lol.  Actually I want, well really I need my next house to have a room turned into a closet with multiple aisles that I can fill.  Currently I have filled 2 doublewide closets and that still doesn’t even hold all my shoes, which I have stacked in a corner trying to keep them out of the way!  I know what your thinking, I cannot possibly be using all those clothes and shoes, well actually I do.  I told you fashion is my creative outlet, I have so much stuff I can make so many combinations I could probably wear something different every day of the year.  I will admit laundry gets to be a nightmare, but I could get away with only doing laundry once or twice a year and not run out of things to wear!  Pretty crazy huh.  I blame modeling, lol.  Modeling was what drove me to have something new and different to shoot in, can’t look the same at every shoot or people will get bored.  I began to take on different looks and now I have photographers that rave about how I can become a totally different person in each shoot.  I like to be versatile, I was boring for too long and now I’ve broken out of my shell.  Just wait til you see my designs, I am envisioning some crazy

concoctions, just you wait…

En Vogue

by -PumpkinSeeds-

Catwalk predictions.
Style convictions.

Real fur,
causing a stir.

Put Agyness Deyn,
on a plane;
and make sure she’s on time for the house of holland campaign.

Go natural?
Stay Bare?
Or opt for fake hair?

Fasten clasp.
Tie up basque.
Hand to hip.
Gloss to lip.

Pluck,
brush,
Make a fuss.

Models in line;
stay alert & on time.

First Kate, then Ella;
Cue Donatella,

walk,
strut,
Show over.

CUT.

My Hair

So check this out, I have sooo much hair it covers me - so much for a view from the back for auditions.  They cannot even see what I look like under that curtain of hair!  I must say, I really do love my hair even though I may complain - as much work as it is to care for all this hair, I’d have to be nuts to keep it while hating it.  So I found this poem about hair by Sylvia Chindi that reminded of why I do put up with my hair.  By the way, you can look at the regular sized picture in my casual gallery, I finished revamping my galleries so if you haven’t looked lately, I have new images, check them out.

curtain of hair

  I love my hair
Long, golden plaited and brown, Enough to move heads around in town, People just want to come near
And stare! Stare at me! Who is that alien from elsewhere?

My hair is beautifully plaited in strands. This kind of hair fashion is high in demand
So many different styles to experiment with and expand
Today a woman needs to look good, do you understand?

I talk to my hair with oils. I say today I need you to curl
And when I style you, Stay in place, do not spoil!
I wash my hair twice a day
Maybe when I am old, it would go grey, But for now the beauty is here to stay
I hope so, I definitely pray!

Beware all, take care. I love my hair, I love my hair
Don’t touch! But you can stare, You can stare at how I wear
My beautiful hair! Try and out-do me if you dare!

Romance

I found a quote one time that said, “Find someone that will do anything to be your everything.”  Doesn’t that sound like the perfect person to spend the rest of your life with?  I was reminded of that thought when I found this poem about being with the one you love:

Being with you

by: Martin Joachim Bangemann

Warmth - incredible and soothing
Peace - sweet and enduring
Freedom - in thoughts and deeds
Happiness - meant to last forever
All that is being with you.
But best of all:
The absence of loneliness.

Song Poetry

Songs are part of poetry, the words move to the beat of the music.  The song If Ever by 5-6 Famalia is one of my favorite songs.  These lines always make me feel good, songs have a way of changing a person’s attitude, “Before you came in my life, girl I was doin’ just fine…she’s hard to find like the end of the rainbow”

If you want to hear their songs check out the 5-6 Famalia link to the left.

Beauty Poem

I am a published poet in three different anthologies and am always inspired by work from other writers. One poem that moved me is called Beauty by Tony Hoagland, this excerpt comes from his poem:

After all those years
of watching her reflection in the mirror,
sucking in her stomach and standing straight,
she said it was a relief,
being done with beauty,
