I met and worked with a new photographer who recently moved to my area from the east coast. Our photo shoot was very last minute, nothing really planned out, and I had the best time ever! I amazingly ended up with a stylist when I almost didn’t get a chaperon, things could have been very different. So this is how it all played out lol…
A friend, Nolan Kubota, had a skirt I wanted to use for my Dorothy look - the Dorothy look was the only look I had time to throw together. When I asked to borrow the skirt, he offered other things I could use too, so we spent the evening before the shoot going through his closet (drag queen) - man I was in heaven! I finally picked out one more look, well I should say he did. I was just so overwhelmed with all the ideas that came to me when going through his closet, I gave him the opportunity to create my second look. I figured with only an hour to shoot I wouldn’t have time for much more than two looks. As we were going over these looks he began to advise me on some makeup ideas to enhance the images. At some point I finally asked him if he would be interested in coming to the shoot with me. Once he agreed, seeming very interested in the opportunity, I then took it a step further and asked if he would be my stylist. It could not have worked out better! If anybody is looking for a stylist, get in touch with Nolan, he was great to work with!
My original two looks were Dorothy Gale with my dog as Toto and a clown-like character with a miniature top hat. I had some ideas for posing as Dorothy and those images came out great. I was kinda shooting from the hip for the clown, my stylist Nolan was looking forward to seeing my ‘improv’. I just goofed around an had fun with it. I felt so expressive and the images came out amazing, definitely something different from what I have done. The photographer was enjoying it so much we kept going, past the allotted hour and added two more looks. He kept saying, “It’s like Im shooting different people” - man was that a compliment! Thats the best way to get more work as a model, by having different looks, changing who you appear to be (not just visually, but in attitude too) Believe it or not, your attitude does show through in the picture - if you are uncomfortable it is evident in the picture. Being a successful model is all about being comfortable in your skin.

I have a couple pictures posted in my Themed Gallery and I will be adding the rest soon, so be sure to coma back to see the forth look![]()
How was your VD? LOL! But honestly I hope it was a happy holiday weekend, specially since I am sure many got off school or work for Presidents Day on Monday. I had a fun weekend myself and I even had to work on Valentines day. I had a lingerie photo shoot Sunday and created some great images working with a new photographer. Some more awesome photos will be soon added to my lingerie gallery for your enjoyment, something to look forward to ![]()
I just finished adding a new gallery for my hair modeling work I have done. Now to be clear, I am not a hair model in the common sense that I allow cut and coloring of my hair. I am only a hair model for styling and design. At the hair show, I had my hair professionally styled by Ted Gibson and promoted his hair products. The other photos are done by another photographer, Eric Smith, who does hair styles - I guess you could call it a sculptural art. He has done hair-does in the past for weddings and wanted to display his work on his website for ideas. I let him practice and display his hair designs using my hair and we have plans to do more. I love having my hair done, it is relaxing and luxurious. I very much enjoy being pampered in that way, even though it may be work, it is enjoyable and how many people can say they love what they do for work
I also had some fun outside work over the weekend and went hiking with my dog. I am not sure if you remember, but I got a puppy a while ago that was ‘driving me crazy’ lol. Well, she is now almost two years old and she still has soo much energy its exhausting. But she is fun and entertaining none-the-less. So I took her on her first hike and it was quite entertaining, her nose never left the ground. She has never been exposed to so many new scents. It was a beautiful day as you can tell in the photo and wasn’t even cold at all. I had my hoodie to keep warm, but never needed to put it on. I kept her on the leash the whole time because I was worried she would run off too far or get stuck somewhere she could not climb back to me from. I’m sure if she had found another animal she would have gotten too excited and ignored my commands. She does listen well and is very well mannered, but this was a whole new situation and she is still pretty young. I am looking forward to more hikes in the future with the coming spring weather. One last note, I have to comment how cool it looks that the sun rays are shining down on us, and that was not only NOT taken by a photographer, but it was taken by my camera on my phone! That is what you call a lucky shot and it looks amazing. Again, I hope you had a great weekend and let me know what you think about my new gallery of my hair modeling

So I have mentioned before that I like horses and I try to go riding every chance I get, well, I almost bought a horse for myself. It didn’t work out, but I made a great friend that I like to call the horse guru. We decided, well I decided, she need to share her knowledge of horses with the world and help those who don’t have someone to go to when they have questions. I have had so much fun with this blog, sharing my modeling with anybody interested that I brought her online too. Come check her out at horseguruadvise.blogspot.com and post a comment if you feel so inclined. She has products for sale as well as fresh ideas to share. Soon to come will be pictures and newsletters for those that want to be up-to-date on all the horse-type news you could want. So check her out by clicking the link to the left under My Favorite Links and tell people you know that are into horses about her website so they know there is someone out there to help them in whatever that is horse :-p Happy surfing.
I got this new puppy and she is so cute and lovable, but driving me up the wall. This is the first time I have ever owned a dog, I have always been a cat person. My cats are pretty unhappy about the new puppy because she demands so much of my attention. Cats are so easy to care for in comparison to a puppy, even my kitten is more laid back than the puppy. (I got the kitten to play with the puppy to help keep her distracted so I can get some stuff done around the house on occasion.) The older cats hate that they get less of my attention, whenever I start petting them Mousse (puppy’s name) comes over and scares them away. I named her Mousse because she has a dark chocolate coat (black with brown in the sun) and it’s ironic because as a Dachshund, Labrador mix she will not get much bigger than the size of a Lab pup. She started out the size of my shoe, but she’s growin’ fast! I always loved the look of Labs but never wanted a big dog. She is perfect for me, I just have to get used to her. Remember the movie Legally Blond? Well I feel like Elle now, carrying my puppy around the mall with me in my shoulder bags, my friends call her a ‘purse dog’. The one time I didn’t have her in her bag, they kicked me out of the store pretty quick, but they don’t seem to mind when she is somewhat hidden.
I hope you have all been voting for me on the Sugarloot contests I entered…I added links over to the left under favorite links (only for limited time while contest lasts) to take you straight to the voting page. Before you go off to enjoy your long weekend, please take a minute and vote 10’s for me.
I will be going horseback riding in the hills of Arizona for my weekend. Don’t worry, I will bring my camera to get pictures of me on the horse and post them to my candid gallery so you can see my life outside the glamorous photo shoots.
I am considering creating a gallery for my own photography, who says a model always has to be in front of the camera. You could say I have an all around love for the camera, doesn’t matter whether I’m in front of or behind the camera, I always have fun. My photography is mostly of landscapes and close-ups of nature, living in the city really makes me apreciate the vast openness and wildlife in undeveloped areas.
So let’s open a poll, let me know if you would like me to add a gallery to see my work BEHIND the camera……………..post a comment, speak to me…
