Hey I just posted my new gallery for all my Renaissance Fair stuff! I kinda have a story line goin’ if you read the captions from the last page up to the first. I had fun with it and I hope you all enjoy looking at them. Maybe it will inspire some of you to want to go to the next one and if so that would be awesome. The more the merrier, hehe. I am sure it was enjoyable for the photographers too, they had so many people to take pitures of in character. The buildings were pretty cool looking as well, making some of the pictures look even more characteristic of the time period. So you will have to tell me what think of my costume. What did you like? What didn’t you like? What would you like to see me change? Or if you are good and authentic about costuming, what do you notice about my pieces that make me not fit in to that time period?
I’m sure most of you already know, I love to play ‘dress up’. Well a few years back I found the perfect place where I can where a costume outside of Halloween - the Ren Fair! I have been attending the Renaissance Fair every year for about 3 or 4 years now. In my opinion, my costumes get better every year. When I find them I will post my old photos taken by my friends for the first couple years so you can see how my costumes have gotten better over time. This costume stuff is expensive so I buy one piece every year. I remember the first year I bought my leather corset and I have used it for many photoshoots I absolutely love it. Actually, it is featured in another gallery on my website, do you know which gallery I am talking about? I definately have no buyers remorse on that one! One year I was so inspired I went to the fair twice that year so I could wear both my outfits. I had the regular time period clothes, but I also had a belly dancer outfit put together. Actually, I didn’t plan to make the two trips, but when I bought my chainmail bra during the first trip I felt a little buyer remorse on that one so I felt I had to use it. I made my own coin chain belt and purchased a couple shawls online (cheap). I was set and ready to make a great impression, I wanted to try joining the belly dancer performance group. Unfortunately, I got into my car accident before the second trip so being in a foot cast did not exactly make me stand out in a good way. So I did not get my ‘big break’ and ended up working for corporate America instead :-p. The good news is I still did a photoshoot in all my belly dancer looks and will try to post those images with my new Renaissance photos, unless there are too many than they may end up in a separate gallery. Anyway, this last visit I went I met up with some photographers to get some professional shots done in setting. In the Renaissance Fair Gallery, you can get a glimpse of what the Fair is like if you have never been. If you have not been I highly encourage you to go and experience it. Not everybody dresses up so don’t worry about spending money like me :-) If you have gone, look for me there next year - I know the place is big, but it will sure give you something to do in between shows, lol.
Happy browsing!
I cannot help but notice that in this down economy, people keep talking about entrepreneurialism more than ever before it seems. It is interesting that it takes a great upheaval for the masses to shift in thinking. Just before the market began to fall I began reading all these “think like a millionaire” type books. Have you heard of the Millionaire Mind Intensives? T Harv Eker is a profound self-made millionaire that teaches people how to follow his path to riches. Aside from his famous book, “Secrets of a Millionaire Mind,” he hosts workshops to help people see their own potential. Recently, he created a new seminar for the current economic market called the Wealthy Warrior. I went to this Wealthy Warrior Seminar and the lesson he taught seem so trivial it made me wonder why doesn’t everybody have this knowledge? They weren’t trivial in an insignificant way, they were trivial in that its common logic. I was blown away by the simplicity of the concepts and yet how our society complicates things.
I find that the more I know and learn, the more I wonder why I had to look for this knowledge instead of having it ingraned throughout my schooling education. Sadly, I have to admit that our education systems needs an overhaul. After doing everything right and graduating high school and college, I find the knowledge I attained I hardly use. Why aren’t we teaching our kids how to survive?! Financial literacy! Since everybody else is talking about it I will too. We are not teaching kids how to deal with money, and everybody wonders why so many Americans are in debt more than they can handle. The only people who get any exposure to managing money during their education are accountants, and it is usually teaching about business accounting, not personal accounting. No wonder the economy is falling, there are now uneducated kids grown up and not managing their spending compiling debt instead of condributing & propering.
I hope to attend more of his work shops and I do encourage anybody and everybody to learn the lessons he teaches, which includes how to manage your money. If we were all smarter about our money, the economy would never reach times like these. If you are interested please visit his website to learn more http://www.millionairemind.com/a/?wid=685822&page=/preview/replay If you are interested in learning more at a live seminar or workshop, but need the initial investment help, let me know and I will see what I can do to get you there. If I could I would pay for everybody I knew to go to his workshops to better their lives, but I am not Bill Gates. I am serious and sincere about wanting to help those who are interested in learning and I will do all in my power to help - post comment here or email me lovenyki@dreamlandkings.com
Hope everybody had a fun St. Patricks Day!! - its my favorite day as I’m Irish Scottish

I will be going horseback riding in the hills of Arizona for my weekend. Don’t worry, I will bring my camera to get pictures of me on the horse and post them to my candid gallery so you can see my life outside the glamorous photo shoots.
I am considering creating a gallery for my own photography, who says a model always has to be in front of the camera. You could say I have an all around love for the camera, doesn’t matter whether I’m in front of or behind the camera, I always have fun. My photography is mostly of landscapes and close-ups of nature, living in the city really makes me apreciate the vast openness and wildlife in undeveloped areas.
So let’s open a poll, let me know if you would like me to add a gallery to see my work BEHIND the camera……………..post a comment, speak to me…
I went to see the Black Cherry Burlesque show this weekend and it was pretty cool. I got there late, but I was able to see both of Pyra Sutra’s acts and she was awesome. It was crazy to see her light & twirl flame tassels!! The place was really crowded, the show sold out all the seats and everybody else had to stand - I was standing since I got there late. A bartender stood up on the bar at one point to see some of the show. I didn’t expect it to be so busy because the road was closed due to the 4th Avenue Street Fair, tents lined the road for more than a mile. It was worth it though, I had a good time and drank one too many drinks.
So I think I may have upset someone with my first Kanye West post. He sounded condescending about me knowing what I was talking about, but I am not sure because of his bad grammer. If I did upset you let me apologize, I did not mean to upset anyone, I was simply venting about my frustrations with trying to get my tickets. I will admit, I do not know much about managing webpages, I have someone that does most of it for me. I must say that I don’t think the ‘look and sound stupid’ comment was necessary. I did admit it was probably due to too much traffic at the site, but the fact that the link was not available when promised and there were no update messages is the fault of the web managers, that is the only reason I mentioned them. I was trying to get tickets while at work Friday so it was quite an inconvenience that I had to keep checking back waiting for the link to be available. Again, I apologize to those web managers that know what they are doing and get blamed for everything - I was not making a personal attack towards anybody
