I am not sure how long my site will be down, but I wanted to keep posting blogs anyway since I found out they are viewable from the archives link.  This month has been crazy busy already and its only a little over a week in!

at bat

The last day of May I had a sports photoshoot at the park.  I had a lot of fun and was surprised how well I can still hit the ball!  I pulled out all my softball equipment from storage in order to be fully prepared for this shoot.  I even went so far as to pull out an old jersey from my softball years.  For those of you who are not familiar or have not seen softball, that black thing around my ankle is a slidding pad :-)  I was hoping to try to get some action shots of me slidding into a base, but we ran short on time and I decided not to risk getting all bruised & scratched up.  If I come across my old action photos from the days when I did play I will post them for you guys.  Just standing at the plate like that for posing made me reminisce how much I miss it - the athleticism, the competition, the feeling of acomplishment.  I did love softball, the only reason I left was because the competition began to grow inside the team - what the *!@# right?!  Competition was supposed to be between teams to win the game.  It was not just on one team either, after too extreme cases in a row I decided it wasn’t worth it anymore.  Girls can be evil!  My breaking point was when my teammate nailed me square in the back (hitting the spine) with a softball during warmups.  Can you believe that?!  I am by nature a gentle and forgiving person, but I had to have 3 teammates and my coach hold me back because she was laughing as I collapsed in pain!  Needless to say, I still miss the other aspects of playing.

Then this past weekend, first weekend of June, I went to another workshop.  This one was for just women and it was made possible by the “i thrive” team.  They did a great job and picked a great location, the spa resort was incredible and I hope to go back for a photoshoot there.  The day was great as well with great speakers that were truely inspiring and motivational!  If you want to learn more about how you can trive in your life (mostly aimed toward women), check out the blog ithrive.com

To your success!
